March 2015

Kansas City Winter Garden Tour

Think you can't visit Kansas City flower gardens in winter? Think again! Come on board Tuesday, March 10, 2015! This day trip will take you to 2 indoor gardens (with real flowers and foliage plants) where we'll be instructed and entertained, have lunch and a guided tour of a very bright and sunny art gallery. Well also visit KC's premier wholesale florist (yes, we can shop at wholesale prices!!!). We'll journey to Kemper Museum and Café Sebastienne for lunch and a guided tour. Next stop will be Kauffman Memorial Gardens to see the collection of winter plants and flowers. We'll wrap up the day at KC's whole sale florist in North Kansas City where we'll shop for fresh flowers, plants and décor that normally only florists can purchase.

We're All Irish - For the Day!

Kansas City is home to the 2nd largest Irish community in America. We'll visit Old St. Pat's Church and learn it's history, we'll savor a real Irish meal at a real Irish pub. Then, our luck continues with a swing by Brown's Deli, the oldest Irish establishment in North America and owned by the same family since 1887 (no blarney) to shop for fine Irish imports. Our final stop will be at The Irish Cultural Center in Union Station for entertainment and a lesson in Cead Mile Fealte (or, how to discipline your children in Gaelic).

March Movie Day

Join us for Movie Day at the Platte Valley Bank in Platte City at 1:00pm. We'll enjoy popcorn, candy and a recently released movie on the big screen in the conference room. Bring along a friend and enjoy a great afternoon.

Bingo/Pot Luck at Platte Valley Bank, Parkville Branch

Join the Prime 50 Club for a fun filled afternoon of good food and bingo. Just bring along a dish for the pot luck.

Platte Valley Bank will provide the meat, drinks, tableware and bingo prizes.

"Singin' in the Rain" with the Kansas City Symphony

Join the Prime 50 Club for a matinee at the movies at Kansas City's Kauffman Center! Get ready to twirl your umbrella as the legendary Hollywood musical "Singin' in the Rain" is shown on a huge screen in Helzberg Hall while the Kansas City Symphony performs the soundtrack live on stage, transforming your visit into pure movie magic.

Flint Hills Adventure

Tall Grass National Prairie Reserve in Kansas offers amazing images of vistas and landscapes. The Flint Hills Scenic Byway twists and dips for 48 miles through rock-ribbed hills and the nations largest remaining tall grass prairie. Highlights of this trip included guided tours of the home and office of Kansas Pulitzer Prize winning author William Allen White, learn about the printing process at Emporia Gazette, take a step on tour with an Emporia historian, meet a real Flint Hills cowboy, hear about local ranchers, plus much more!

Marshall County Day Adventure

This musical celebrates the great ladies who work in all the church kitchens everywhere! Church Basement Ladies is a funny, heartfelt look at four women who solve the world's problems. Join the fun as they share recipes, songs, stories and gossip! Lively, hilarious, touching...and definitely familiar.

"Hairspray" the Musical

"Hairspray" is the most requested "return engagement" in New Theatre's history. On Broadway it won eight Tony awards and was hailed by the New York Times as "the best musical of the decade".

Set in the 1960s, "Hairspray" is the story of a "pleasingly plump" mother and her teenage daughter...both full figured and ready to fight for what's right!

Nashville Show Tour

Join us for 7 days and six nights as we travel by motor coach to Memphis and Nashville. A few of the highlights of this trip will be a guided tour of Memphis, a show and backstage tour of the Grand Old Opry, a tour of Belle Meade Plantation. a walk around Graceland, and a visit to the Country Music Hall of Fame.

"Addams Family" the Musical

Join us as we travel to New Theatre Restaurant to see the hit Broadway musical, "The Addams Family". Wednesday Addams, princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart, "normal" young man (and her parents know very little about him).

Finally, Wednesday confides in her father that she wants to marry her "normal" guy. Fearing her mother's disapproval she begs her father to keep her secret. Can Gomez hide the truth from Morticia? A difficult task once Morticia invites the boyfriend's parents to dinner.
