That’s why we offer the Dollar Bill Club, designed for children and young adults from birth through 22 years of age. The Dollar Bill Club’s goal is to help teach young people the importance of saving while having fun at the same time!

Internet Safety

Who: Parents and Children who use the internet
Where: Platte Valley Bank in Platte City, ground floor conference room.

What: Based out of the Platte County Sheriff’s Department, the Western Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force (WMCCTF) began in 2006, and originally covered 9 counties including the Kansas City, Missouri Metropolitan area. Today, the WMCCTF covers 27 counties, which includes about 25% of the population of Missouri and 25% of the sex offender population. The WMCCTF is comprised of both full-time and part-time Investigators from several Law Enforcement agencies in Northwest Missouri. The primary focus of the WMCCTF is the investigation of online child exploitation cases. The WMCCTF not only seeks to investigate crimes when they happen, but also to inform the public at large of current crime trends, educate children on safe internet behavior, and arm parents with valuable information to protect their own children at home.

This presentation will cover not only the dangers of wrong behavior on the internet, but will also detail proper online behavior as well as tips for parents. There will be a question/answer and discussion time as well to cover any and all questions or concerns from parents.
